Important: Store Data Backups

Once again a situation has arisen relating to data backups. Backups are essential!, if you lose your data or your data becomes corrupted beyond repair (usually caused by hardware failures) and you don't have a reliable backup system in place, then you have just lost your most important asset and the road to recovery is long and difficult. Imagine losing your Debtor information, how will you know who owes you what? Or imagine losing your script database, you will lose track of repeat numbers, patient history, S3 details and will be unable to provide your customers with receipts upon request (just to highlight a few issues).
A small number of our customers are continuing to use unreliable backup devices such as Tape Backups, CD's, DVD's, Removable Drives, Flash Disks etc... These types of devices are totally unreliable! and only really work well for a few months. Things like Tapes, CD's, DVD's etc... become corrupted or go missing and make restoring your valuable data impossible. Furthermore, these types of "traditional" backup solutions require someone to place the correct days Tape, CD, DVD etc.. into the drive before leaving at night and will NOT notify you of any issues that have occurred or if the backup has worked; let alone apply a CRC to check the data's integrity.
CPIAM® Pty Ltd has an online data backup solution that will create and copy the backup sets to all your available networked computers then, upload the information to a secure online server. The information in your backup set is CRC checked for integrity and your are notified daily (via email) about the success (or failure) of your backup. The backups are done everyday and are scheduled to start 30mins after close of trade.
